This collection is inspired by real landscapes experienced by the artist. Rather than faithfully reproduce a scene in a realistic manner, these paintings use paint application, mark-making, color, and sometimes non-traditional materials to evoke the emotion and atmosphere impressed on the artist’s memory. Some of the paintings were painted on location during plein air painting sessions where I abstracted the landscape I saw in front of me.
