In my garden, I grow plants that I enjoy painting: peonies, irises, daisies, tulips, coneflowers, and phlox. Each year, there are some surprises – a plant I forgot about, or one whose color or smell had escaped my memory since the previous year. Even in winter, when the hydrangeas and grasses have dried and paled, my garden gives me inspiration for painting.
