These non-representational paintings bring together spontaneous, intuitive mark-making with thoughtful, analytical division of space and placement of color. I start with big, broad marks, allowing the texture of the canvas to show through. Then, I selectively add color and line with oil paint and pigment stick to create color vibrations and move the eye throughout the painting. The resulting pieces embrace playful movement and strong color vibrations.
