Similar to my landscapes, most of my seascapes are painted on location. I am interested in the subtle changes in color and atmosphere where the land meets the water. Weather, season, wind direction, wildfires hundreds of miles away – so many things influence the beauty of the ocean, of the lakeside. My plein air seascapes can be found in the Road Trips portfolio. When I work on a studio seascape, my hours spent studying the movement of water inform the way I handle color and paint.
